What are the Bookstore's refund policies?
A cash register receipt and your valid ID are required for all refunds and/or exchanges.
Books/merchandise must be returned within the time limits required.
New books and merchandise must be returned in mint condition and in their original unopened packaging. New textbooks which have been damaged will be refunded at the used book price if they are resalable as used books. Workbooks, study guides and lab manuals are non-refundable if written in or erasures are visible.
All returns and exchanges must be taken to the refund counter at the front of the store. Please do not bring returns/exchanges into the selling area of the bookstore at any time.
The CNC Bookstore management reserves the right to make the decision on the condition or salability of the merchandise.
The following items are not returnable: course readers, calculators/electronics, catalogs/schedules, computer disks, computer hardware, computer software, food/beverages, magazines, health/beauty aids, paperback books, sale/clearance merchandise, study aids, packaged/kitted merchandise, art/photography supplies, gift cards/certificates, phone cards, items labeled "Not Returnable", items labeled "Not Refundable", and items labeled "All Sales are Final".
Merchandise that has been removed from its original packaging or has been damaged is not refundable.
Some textbooks, workbooks/lab manuals with writing and books containing computer software are NOT sold as used books; therefore, they may not be refunded if damaged, unwrapped or missing components.
The date the order was received by a person at the customer's address will be considered the purchase date for return purposes. The shipping fee is not refundable. Returns of merchandise purchased online must be shipped on or before the return deadline as stated on the receipt. The return shipping fee is the responsibility of the customer. College of San Mateo Bookstore is not responsible for lost or damaged returned merchandise. This means you need to write the return address clearly, insure your return and pack it well. Please ship all returns to the CNC Bookstore via UPS or FedEx Ground.
What forms of payment are accepted at the CNC Bookstore?
We gladly accept payment by: Paypal, Google Checkout, Money Order, Cashiers Check, Postal Order
Credit card customers can utilize either Paypal or Google Checkout to complete their transactions.
Personal, Cashiers' & Travelers' Checks
Each check must meet the following requirements:
be made payable to College of San Mateo Bookstore
bear the current date
bear the name and address of the bank printed on the check
bear the account number at the bank
bear your name and address on the check
bear the verifiable signature of the presenter
drawn on U.S. funds from a U.S. bank
How much is shipping for online or phone orders?
Shipping to the U.S. is free for every item not specified otherwise.
Please note: Free shipping charges are for orders shipped and billed to Continental 48 states only. Please contact the cncbookstore for shipping charges to Hawaii & Alaska.
We gladly ship to Canada, Australia, United Kingdom and many other international locations. Contact us for international rates.
When will my order be shipped?
In stock orders are usually shipped within 2 to 10 business days from the date of the order. Books not in stock will be shipped when they become available at no additional shipping charge to you.
I've changed my mind. Can I cancel my order?
If you have changed your mind, please contact us immediately.
If your order has NOT SHIPPED, your order can be easily cancelled with no cost to you. Please notify the bookstore immediately. Please have your name and web order number ready if you are calling the bookstore to cancel your order.
If your order has SHIPPED, you will need to return the books to the bookstore as outlined in the Bookstore's Return Policy. Unfortunately the shipping charge is not refundable on cancelled orders that have shipped.
A 15% restocking fee will apply to your return if it has allready shipped.
How do I know if my web order has been accepted?
Our webserver will send you an automated e-mail acknowledging receipt of your web order.
If you do not receive an e-mail confirmation, you may have not placed your web order successfully or your spam blocker may be preventing you from receiving the automated e-mail response. Please contact the bookstore's web ordering department to confirm receipt of your web order.
Special Orders / Gift Cards / Gift Wrapping
All CNC Bookstore departments are pleased to accept orders for items not normally stocked at the Bookstore. Partial or full payment may be required at time of ordering. Shipping charges may apply.
Customers may purchase gift certificates for any amount. Gift Certificates are available for purchase online at cncbookstore.com. At this time, Gift Certificates/Cards purchased at Skyline Bookstore and Cañada Bookstore are not valid at CNC Bookstore.
Gift wrapping is available upon customer request for purchases of $30.00 or more. Gift wrapping is $7.00 per package.
